PUBG Mobile Review: Battle Royale Hit for Mobile Devices Review
PUBG Mobile is a mobile version of one of the most popular battle royale games. You and 99 other players are dropped onto the vast 8x8 km battlefield to fight each other, and to make things more interesting the map shrinks constantly. Download PUBG Mobile and try to become the last man standing.
The graphics of the mobile version of PUBG are definitely worse than those the PC version has. The lighting and particle effects are missing, and the result is rather bland. The textures are muddier, and the terrain might look awful sometimes. The performance isn’t ideal either, so you have to use modern phones and tablets, or a crash once in a while is imminent. Still, the graphics look nice compared to other mobile action games.
The PUBG Mobile gameplay is rather simple. The mercenary you control parachutes onto an island, and you begin to search for weapons, ammo and other supplies. There are 99 other players around you, and you all have common goal to become the last man standing. The map starts large, but then it begins to shrink into smaller circles forcing players together to speed things up a little.
The mobile version of the game has almost every feature of the PC version, with just a few exceptions. There is just one map named Erangel, and all the content that was added since the game first exited Early Access is missing. And since in the PUBG Mobile full game vehicles are much harder to hit, they play a larger combat role, staying relevant even near the end of the game.
All in all, the gameplay is nice, and it offers a very different kind of experience compared with other shooter games, especially on mobile devices. It’s not very tense, but it’s still a lot of fun.
Controls are crucial for every action game, and PUBG Mobile just doesn’t have them right. They are clumsy, and even though you get used to them pretty soon, they are still much less comfortable compared to controls of the PC version. There are virtual joysticks for movement and camera control, and a shooting button which moves to wherever your thumb last touched, which is a nice feature.
Replay Value 4/5
As the PC version, the Android PUBG Mobile version has rather high replay value. The gameplay is addictive and it helps you forget about clumsy controls and bland graphics quite soon. The players who are used to the PC version may feel a little disappointed at first, but after all, they get to play their favorite game everywhere they go, and that may compensate for missing features.
The Bottom Line
PUBG Mobile review should not disorient you – the game is great, and despite it’s a bit less comfortable than the PC version, it still offers very captivating experience that will make you spend hours and hours playing it.
PUBG Mobile is a fun shooter game to play on your phone or tablet. Download PUBG Mobile and take part in the never-ending battle.
